FEWS NET/Chemonics International Inc. seeks a highly qualified and motivated Senior Markets and Trade Analyst to lead in the market-based response aspect of the project’s various decision support activities, referred to as Enhanced Market Analysis (EMA). Based on project-level priorities, the Senior Markets and Trade Analyst will also lead and/or support other aspects of the Home Office Technical Team’s portfolio of activities including Markets and Trade, Livelihoods, and/or Food Security analysis and reporting. 

The Senior Markets and Trade Analyst will work under the direct supervision of the Senior Markets and Trade Advisor. The main responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Market-Based Response Feasibility Analysis 
- Sector support to the FEWS NET Home Office Technical Team

The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows:
- Fluency in English required, French and/or Arabic language skills highly desirable
- Master's degree in a discipline directly relevant to the position, preferably in Economics or International Development. Directly related professional experience can substitute for education experience
- Two years of experience conducting response analysis in a developing country setting. In-country experience designing, implementing, monitoring, or evaluation cash transfer programs in country highly desirable
- Familiar with EMMA, RMA, MIFIRA, or other market assessment tool as used in the humanitarian context
- Experience providing technical support, guidance and training on issues related to market-based response design, implementation, and analysis

Khartoum, Sudan | Due: 01/31/19

FEWS NET seeks applications from qualified and experienced Sudanese professionals to fill one full-time Assistant National Technical Manager (ANTM) position in Khartoum, Sudan. 

The ANTM will work closely with the National Technical Manager (NTM) to undertake activities in the following areas:
- Efficient, focused food security monitoring, data collection, assessment, and early warning analysis
- Effective communication of early warning analysis to partners and decision-makers through high-quality reports and participation in briefings and formal and informal meetings
- Close collaboration with key partners, such as host government ministries, UN agencies, and international and local NGOs, among others
- Supporting network development by addressing identified gaps in effective early warning systems
- Project administration and management at the field office level, as designated by the NTM, including acting as NTM when required. 

The ANTM will assist the NTM to provide quality control for the deliverables of the project and will help ensure that activities and products are delivered in a timely manner.

The minimum qualifications for the Sudan ANTM position are as follows:
- Fluency in English and French is required, Spanish and/or local language skills desirable 
- An advanced university degree in a discipline relevant to the work of FEWS NET, such as agricultural economics, agronomy, nutrition, climatology, anthropology, social geography or related field. Significant, directly related professional experience can substitute for educational experience.
- At least two years of relevant experience in early warning/food security information systems, food security analysis, or other related fields
- Strong spoken and written communication skills in English
- Excellent computer skills; GIS applications and mapping skills are an advantage

Maiduguri, Nigeria | Due: 01/28/19

Chemonics International Inc., a leading international consulting firm based in Washington, DC, has been contracted by USAID to manage FEWS NET’s technical and field activities. Chemonics seeks applications from qualified and experienced Nigerian professionals to fill one full-time Food Security Specialist (FSS) position in Maiduguri, Nigeria.

The successful candidate will report to the National Technical Manager (NTM) for Nigeria and will collaboratively support the NTM to undertake the following activities:
- Developing and updating seasonal food security and nutrition monitoring plans for select areas and conducting rapid assessments based on these plans
- Reporting on assessment findings related to the food security, nutrition, and livelihoods situations and preparing associated technical trip reports and written and oral briefing information
- Monitoring changes in market and food access, humanitarian assistance, livelihoods, nutritional status, security, and population displacements in specific areas
- Participating in multi-agency humanitarian needs assessments as necessary, and providing verbal and written briefings during the field trip and/or upon returning from the field on the food security and nutrition situation of the area assessed 

Minimum qualifications for the Nigeria FSS position are:
- An advanced university degree in a discipline relevant to the work of FEWS NET, such as agricultural economics, agronomy, nutrition, climatology, anthropology, or social geography. Significant, directly related professional experience can substitute for educational experience
- At least two years of relevant experience in early warning/food security information systems, food security analysis, or another related field
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of local languages is an advantage
- Strong spoken and written communication skills in English

Kampala, Uganda | Due: 01/24/19

FEWS NET/Chemonics International seeks applications from qualified and experienced Ugandan professionals to fill one full-time Administrative Assitant (AA) position in Uganda. The AA will serve as a member of the administrative support team on the FEWS NET project, supporting the office manager and national technical manager to facilitate the administrative and financial operations of the FEWS NET office and, in the absence of the office manager, providing financial and clerical support services.

The minimum qualifications for the Uganda Administrative Assistant position are:

- Bachelor’s degree in administrative management, finance or other relevant field 
- Excellent speaking and writing skills in English required
- Advanced computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office required 
- A minimum of 2 years of operations experience with strong organizational, management, and administrative skills required, experience with an international organization preferred
- Relevant experience in office administration, including basic accounting and operations management experience
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to be a strong team player
- Present a professional demeanor and exercise professional judgment
- Ability to prioritize work assignments to foster timely work completion
- Excellent and demonstrated organizational skills
- Ability to perform well with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate leadership, integrity and versatility.
